Q. How can you sell these gift certificates for half off or more?
A. This is possible because the merchants that we work with exchange gift certificates for advertising, allowing Port City Deals to sell the certificates for half off or more.
Q. Are these coupons?
A. No, these are actual physical gift certificates that, once purchased, are sent to the customer by mail. They have real value and can be used in place of cash.
Q. Can I buy more than one of the same gift certificate?
A. You may not buy more than one of the same certificate at the same time. There is a 90-day restriction period (unless otherwise noted) during which you may not purchase another certificate to the same place of business. In the mean time, it is our hope that you will try out some of our other merchants’ certificates.
Q. How long will it take to get my certificate?
A. From the day of purchase, you should receive your gift certificate in 2-5 business days.
Q. How do I know my credit card information is secure?
A. Any credit card information you submit to PortCityDeals.com is encrypted and kept secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access and to ensure the correct usage of information, we have organized the appropriate procedures (physical, electronic, and managerial) to safeguard the information we collect from our customers. Q. What are the restrictions on the gift certificate?
A. The merchants that provide the gift certificates have the right to place restrictions that they deem necessary on the use of the certificate. Therefore, the restrictions will vary from certificate to certificate. All restrictions are posted on the gift certificate page as well as on the back of the gift certificate itself. Please review all restrictions on a particular certificate before purchasing and using.
Q. Is there an expiration on these certificates?
A. Yes, there is an expiration date posted on each certificate. The customer has 60 days in which to use the certificate. To allow time for shipping, the expiration date for the certificate is set to 65 days from the date of purchase.
Q. What if there are no more certificates available for the merchant that I’m interested in?
A. There are a limited amount of certificates per merchant per month. If all certificates for a particular merchant have been sold before the end of the month, you’ll have to wait until the 1st of the next month for new availability. In the meantime, try out another business or two.
